Jennifer Love Hewitt has disclosed that the media knew about her mother’s death before she was even told.

The celebrity in question is 45 years old. She became a household name in the 1990s as a teenager in many successful shows such as Party of Five and Kids Incorporated, and in films like I Know What You Did Last Summer.

In the year 2012, Jennifer’s mother Patricia Hewitt succumbed to cancer at the age of 67 years. Jen, who was 33 years old then, gives a glimpse of her recuperative journey and dealing with loss in her forthcoming book titled “Inheriting Magic: My Journey Through Grief, Joy, Celebration, and Making Every Day Magical.”

As reported by the Hollywood Reporter, Jennifer also narrated a touching story during the recent event in a bookshop in Los Angeles that focused on the day her mother died when she was at the 52nd Monte Carlo TV Festival held in Monaco.

She was still on her flight back home when she got the news about Patricia passing away. Later, Jennifer explained at the function that the journalists had known about her mother’s death prior to when she had been told.

Then she noted that the return flight was long too. It took roughly ten and a half hours, thus when I disembarked, everyone was already in the know, hence it was quite an experience for me, not ‘a deviation’ in any way.

Jennifer is said to have claimed that on more than a few instances, the press knew about happenings in her life even before she did.

Then, she continued, “But it feels like everybody has always known too much about my life in a way.” After a breakup, people have been heard saying things like ‘He was cheating on you already.’ Come on, does it have to be like that ?I just realized that I was not told of this.

As for Jennifer, she said in an interview with the Hollywood Reporter that she had not talked about her mother’s death before because she did not have the proper words but intends to honor her mother’s memory in the book.

She stated that she was rendered speechless at that time, and in her opinion, it was the best time to think about her and what she had left behind.

Jennifer revealed that the title of her book, Inheriting Magic, is because her mother has that special gift of making everyone around her feel special.

She recalled being on a very popular television series and how whenever they entered into a restaurant, all eyes were on who else but her mother. They wanted to know more about the lady who stood beside me as she was radiating light and happiness. She was friends with all. She did not consider anyone a stranger in the entire world.

Jennifer shared that if she was moody because of a heartbreak or a bad day, her friend would come over and decorate the place with Christmas lights, insisting that it helps in lifting one’s spirits. Whenever there was cramps of ferocious severity, there would come light.

On November 23, 2021, Jennifer made an emotional post on Instagram remembering her deceased mother on the 11th anniversary of her death. In the post, Jennifer also revealed a special trait of hers: “There’s no way back for me, not for the last 11 years, ever since I was plunged in wholeheartedly without looking back.” In my opinion, there was no possibility of saying goodbye proper, even if one would have wanted because I think that would be a very difficult thing to express at such a situation.

In return, I pay my respects to you by trying to sprinkle some magic within my family the way you used to do for us. You have my warmest regards.
